Quicken 7 Lion Software Is CompatibleI found other information on Quicken alternatives, but none of the responses address my.Quicken for Mac 2007 being rebuilt to work with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Here customers.Convert Quicken for Mac Data File to Quicken Essentials for Mac If you have upgraded to and/or are running OS X 10.7 Lion or higher and need to convert your file We have released a Quicken File Exchange Utility that is compatible with Mac OSX 10.7 Lion. The program is included in Education Tools. The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10 Apple Mac OSX and Linux. Parallels Desktop does not let you run PowerPC software (like your Mac version of Quicken) under OS 10.7 (Lion).- Image editing. You can then run the Windows version of Quicken. At the moment, you should wait until Quicken is updated to Work under Lion, or if you can get by with. No, Quicken will not run or work at all under Lion, since Quicken was designed as a PowerPC app, which relies on 'Rosetta' emulation (built in to OSX, but no longer present in OSX Lion) to work. I doubt if that will change, and I doubt that Apple will reinstate Rosetta to allow PowerPC programs to run under Lion.Active Oldest Votes. I don't use Quicken so haven't been paying close attention, but my understanding is that Intuit (publishers of Quicken) made the decision not to convert the PowerPC-only Quicken to a Universal or Intel application. ![]() And partitioning a drive with SL and Lion and having to boot into SL just to run Quicken is too obtrusive for me and such a setup would also just be asking for problems to occur. So I have already been to the iBank site to check out some tutorials and it appears to be ok except that the interface is not as user friendly as Quicken and it will take a lot of getting used to if and when that time arrives.I too have been using Mac Quicken forever - my data goes back to '94, totalling 14,000 transactions, millions of dollars, multiple businesses, 11 different accounts - including very complex splits, transfers, etc. I had thought that buying Parallels Desktop would be a way out for me because I thought it was a piece of software that integrated Quicken with Lion (kind of like Rosetta) but apparently that is not the case. If I'm lucky, Quicken will have come out with a new compatible version by then (Quicken Essentials does not have the features I need) but if not, it appears that my only option will be to switch to a new program such as iBank.I have been using only Apple computers and Quicken since around 1992 and would never consider buying a PC. That means that at some time a few years down the road, I will have to buy a new computer that will have Lion or a later OS installed. I'm fine for now with SL and a relatively new iMac but I happen to be a planner by nature. Moneydance is the closest, and it's damned impressive. (I just want an Income Statement with categories/tags in columns (different products) and categories in rows.I've reasearched all the alternatives. But I can't.Quicken Essentials is crippled, disabled, useless, and it's the only path to Lion that Intuit offers. (It crashes every now and then, but it has *never* corrupted the file.)I too would like to upgrade to Lion - and buy an 11" Air. Pokemon leaf green for mac sierraI'm sure there are many thousands like me out there.Apple, are you listening? Might want to have a talk with the folks at Intuit, see if you can convince them to stop treating Mac customers like third-class citizens, as they've been doing lo these many years. Quicken has had its reporting engine interface and built since the 90s.Either Intuit or Moneydance: just implement it.In the meantime I'm stuck, and won't be buying an Air. And it's not like I'm really asking for all that much. (Essentials took half an hour!) But its reporting is also lame. ![]()
